Bird's Eye View
One of four condominiums built and designed by Cottage Company along Main Street in downtown Harbor Springs, this top-floor residence captures sweeping views of the harbor and surrounding bluff. Spanning the entire upper level, it features a spacious rooftop deck with an outdoor kitchen—ideal for quiet evenings or small gatherings under the stars. Two additional porches extend the living space: the beloved “Parade Porch,” a front-row seat to Harbor Springs’ Fourth of July festivities, and a dining porch off the kitchen overlooking the water.
Though the clients maintain other homes in the area, this project was conceived as a refined in-town retreat—contemporary yet comfortably relaxed. The interiors balance clean, masculine lines with classic cottage touches such as paneled walls and wool carpeting. In the primary bath, floating inset cabinetry with under-cabinet lighting pairs with marble mosaic floors and stacked-tile walls for a crisp, modern feel. The guest bath continues the detailing with a marble mosaic floor, vertical nickel-gap paneling, a wall-mounted faucet, thick countertops, and custom icebox-style hardware sourced from Paris.
Trust was at the heart of the collaboration. The client’s confidence in Cottage Company Interiors allowed the design team to make thoughtful decisions with creativity and freedom—resulting in a home that feels effortless, elevated, and entirely personal.
